Ruhlman's new book
Called "Ratio". Teaches how to cook without being a slave to recipes. Could be awesome, though I hope not too heavy on baking...

I added the link to the google books preview. Just click on it and check it out, it is mostly baking, but there's other stuff as well.
Check out Ruhlman's blog (blog.ruhlman.com). He describes making cornbread using the fundamentals in Ratio...again, I'm giddy with excitement. (LOSER)
